Granite Maintenance
We recommend Miracle Sealants 511 Seal & Enhance. It can be purchased online or locally at Oregon Tile and Marble. Kitchen counters usually need to be resealed after 1 year — tub decks and bathroom counters after 2 years.
** Keep in mind that “Miracle Sealants” has an entire line of sealing products for various applications. Only use “Seal & Enhance” for countertop, backsplash, and tub deck applications.
This sealer is applied on the finished countertops, backsplash, and around sink openings. It is recommended to reseal after 1-2 years depending on the amount of use. This is a penetrating sealer — however, as the countertop is used, the sealer will begin to break down on the outermost surface. When this happens, water will appear to lay flat as opposed to beading and ease of clean up will begin to diminish. This is a sign that it’s time to reseal your countertops.
